Why Watch Dido & Aeneas?

• Henry Purcell's genre-defining romantic tragedy follows Trojan hero Aeneas as he grapples between the hardest choice one could ever make: love or destiny.
  
• The opera features some of the greatest arias, including 'Dido's Lament', and was one of the first attempts ever at composing opera in English.
  
• Much like Purcell, director Yaron Lifschitz leans into fusion, blending lush baroque with circus acrobatics to create a unique adaptation of a timeless classic.
