Storyline
Set in early 20th-century Nagasaki, Madama Butterfly follows Cio-Cio-San, a young Japanese woman who marries American naval officer Pinkerton, believing in their shared future. While he sees their union as temporary, she devotes herself to him completely. As time passes and their worlds drift apart, Butterfly’s faith and love are tested by painful truths. When Pinkerton returns, she faces the ultimate decision between love and honor.
