Tip: If you arrive at Scenic World early and the view is obscured by fog, take advantage of your all-day ticket. Explore other activities and return later when the weather improves.
Elderly people with cardiovascular disease, vertigo, fear of heights, and pregnant women are not recommended to join this activity.
This experience is not accessible by wheelchair.
The Cableway and Skyway are both stroller-friendly experiences. For safety reasons, strollers are not allowed on the Scenic Railway. Stroller access is limited on the longer routes of the Scenic Walkway due to steep gradients and multiple stairs.
Scenic World is an all-weather attraction, rides will still operate in case it rains. The Railway, Skyway, and Cableway cabins are enclosed to provide shelter. Rain ponchos and umbrellas are available for purchase onsite.
Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue. However, they must wear their harness or leash at all times and must not be carried.
Important: Stop at the ticket office at 283 Bathurst Road, Katoomba, before boarding the bus. This is the only place to redeem your combo for both the bus and Scenic World tickets. You’ll also receive your guidebook and the entry code needed for Scenic World rides. The ticket office is open every day, from 8:30am to 3pm.

The Cableway and Skyway are both stroller-friendly experiences. For safety reasons, strollers are not allowed on the Scenic Railway. Stroller access is limited on the longer routes of the Scenic Walkway due to steep gradients and multiple stairs.

This experience is one of a kind – Scenic Skyway suspends you 270 meters above Jamison Valley with incredible views. A section of the floor is actually clear, letting you see straight down through the rainforest! Spacious cabins hold up to 84 people, so you can comfortably enjoy sights like the Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls.

Scenic walkway

This 2.4km elevated path winds through the rainforest canopy, letting you get up close to ancient trees and native plants. Keep an eye out for colorful birds and learn about the area's fascinating mining history along the way.

Scenic World cableway

Take a 510-meter descent into Jamison Valley. Enclosed cabins comfortably seat 83 adventurers, providing classic cable car views of sandstone cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and the iconic Three Sisters.

What does “skip-the-line” mean?

Skip-the-line tickets let you avoid the ticket-purchase queue at Scenic World. With an e-ticket (mobile or print), you proceed to the entry/checkpoint and bypass the long ticket office lines. Note: all guests still pass mandatory security and safety checks; ride queues and short wait times at each attraction may still apply during peak periods.

How long are the queues at Scenic World?

Ticket office queue: Peak (weekends & school holidays). Expect 30–60 minutes if buying on site; skip-the-line avoids this.
Entry/security check: Typical 5–20 minutes depending on crowding. This is mandatory for everyone.

We were able to fit all 4 attractions in one day but recommend splitting over two days if possible. Highlight was the Aquarium; so relaxing watching all the colourful fish. Wax Museum was fun; a few interactive exhibits, would be cool if there were more. Love the Sydney Tower; despite a bit of fog, it was still an amazing view. The Wildlife Zoo was the least impressive; too many exhibits empty or under maintenance.

While I was in Sydney, Australia, I went to the Blue Mountains in Katoomba. I rode the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus and went to Scenic World. I asked the Driver of the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus what stop should I explore first and he told me to explore Scenic World before the large crowds arrive. I got off at stop 7 and rode the Scenic Skyway. Rode the Scenic Railway to explore the Scenic Walkway then road the Scenic Cableway. The Blue Mountains Explorer Bus Guide said "warm, friendly family service and delicious meals" are at Café Lurline, stop 15. So the bus dropped me off at stop 15. I enjoyed lunch at Café Lurline. One employee frombCafé Lurline showed me the route to walk to Echo Point so I could see Three Sisters up close. I then got on the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus and got off at Katoomba Station. I experienced two drivers on the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus and I learned more about Blue Mountains. Thanks Blue Mountains Explorer Bus and Scenic World for a great day.

We went on a day when it rained more than it has in along time. More than 100 mls. The train was closed the walkways were closed but the staff more than made up for it with their enthusiasm and caring attitude. It was a tough day for them too but they went about their work with a smile!! Thanks guys!
